“Demanding” Times

“When will you be showing that again?” is one of the most frequent questions we get from callers into Member and Audience services. Whether something came up, you want to see it again or you simply forgot when it was on, everyone has some reason to ask that question.

Technology is wonderful and with the power of the internet, you now have several options to answer that exact question.

Our online schedule allows you to view additional viewing times for a program you may have missed part of so you can catch it from the beginning. Just click on the title of the program you want to see and the description of the program will appear. If we are planning to air the program again, a link will appear in this window for additional viewing times. No searching required, just click and see all the times we will repeat the program.

Certain programs, like Charlie Rose, actually have their own website with a searchable archive of programs. This archive offers on-demand viewing of episodes so you can always catch a missed episode or simply re-watch one that you really wanted to see again, all on your time!

Not great at “searching”? Not to worry, DPTV makes it easy for you to find many of the most popular programs right at our website! Just look under “On-Demand” and you’ll find Promos, Video and even Podcasts for your Ipod! Local favorites available include Am I Right, Discover the D, DSO Random Acts of Music, Get Up! Get Out! and Leaders On Leadership to name just a few.
You’ll also find on-demand viewing for PBS programming like Frontline, American Experience, History Detectives, Nova, The Nightly Business Report and Washington Week.

Specials available on demand change frequently but currently include The 11th Annual Sphinx Finals Contest, Celtic Thunder Cast Interviews with Fred Nahat, Michigan Voices of the War, Great Performances: NYC Philharmonic Live from North Korea and Power for the Parkinsons.

Parents on the go will be glad to know that Podcasts include entertainment for the kids as episodes of Sesame Street can be downloaded to the Ipod so the kids can be entertained and educated in the car and on trips.

Isn’t it great to know that in these demanding times, DPTV offers you the opportunity to take control of your viewing and watch your programs on your schedule?
