From the Sea to Your Home

From the Sea to your home.....

I find I can spend hours staring at our Saltwater reef tank watching the fish, the snails, the corals and the underwater interactions. Such a peaceful thing to enjoy in the comfort of my living room.

Tonight, DPTV is bringing this joy and peace to everyone! Time to pull out that "Yellow Submarine" and go underseas with Jean-Michael Cousteau as he travels Back to the Amazon at 8 PM. This show is also being broadcast on our High Definition channel at the same time for a change and will repeat on HD at 11PM. Pink dolphins, anacondas and lots of other surprises await you in the Amazon ecosystem.

Bring home your underwater adventure at 9PM as we explore how aquariums bring the sea right into our reach on Window to the Sea. With an exhilarating blend of animal demonstrations, interactive displays, and educational exhibits, aquariums offer a rare view of marine life to a curious public.

Every day, scientists, veterinarians, trainers, and educators dedicate their skills and resources to promote oceanic preservation and understanding. Using stunning high-definition video, this program reveals how four leading facilities provide fascinating gateways to the science, natural history, and adventure of the undersea world.

I can tell you that having an aquarium in the home, freshwater or salt water, can be a wonderful way to connect daily with a world most of us never get to experience and is a great stress reliever.

Thursday, DPTV will be focusing on the home you put your aquarium into with This Old House at 8PM, The New Yankee Workshop at 8:30PM and Ask This Old House at 9PM.

Friday we go back to the sea, at least the coast, with the hilarious comedy The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming at 9PM. This Cold War spoof about a Soviet sub aground off New England features Carl Reiner, Alan Arkin, Eva Marie Saint, Jonathan Winters, John Phillip Law and Brian Keith. I remember seeing this classic film as a kid and laughing my way through two hours of comedic paranoia and wacky assumptions as this small New England town and the stranded Russians try to avoid starting World War III. This is a must see for any comedy fan.

By the way, Priscilla fans, we have word that your favorite stretches will be back starting in May! You can check our schedule online for the exact start date and while you’re there, sign up to receive the weekly e-mail update newsletter so you’ll always be “in the know”!
