Three Nights of Amazing Specials on DPTV!

We’re always looking for the best for our viewers and our schedule for the next few days is extra special. After reviewing our scheduled programs I discovered a pattern of greatness I couldn’t wait to share.

Thursday is Mind, Body and Spirit night! Your “whole self” evening begins with Mind at 8 PM as Peter Coyote guides you thorough new breakthroughs to improving brain function in Brain Fitness. This program is extremely enlightening and has been a great favorite with many requests for repeats.

Body follows as Dr. Michael Roizen brings you his newest information for your health in You: Extending Your Warranty at 9:30 PM. Dr. Roizen has tips on how to keep your body healthy and extend your life.

Spirit is the first thing people think of when Dr. Wayne Dyer’s name comes up. Because of popular demand he’s back at 11 PM with his Power of Inspiration special to help you improve your spiritual health and well-being.

We all know that laughter is the best medicine so in keeping with our theme of the night, set the VCR or DVR to catch a new special by Rita Rudner as we bring you the first airing of Rita Rudner: Live from Las Vegas from 2 to 3 AM Thursday night/Friday morning. Rita’s wonderful “sweet as pie” reflections about
relationships will have you rolling on the floor with laughter.

While you’re on the floor, you may as well stay tuned for the relaxing stretches of Peggy Cappy as she leads you through Back Care Basics: Yoga for the Rest of Us from 3 AM to 4 AM. These yoga moves are easy, calming and just what you need to help wind down your mind so you can sleep after an hour of belly laughs.

Come back Friday night for a My Music night with ALL the songs you remember by the original artists covering 3 decades of music.

The night begins with the early years of rock with 50’s Pop Parade at 8:30 PM as Robert Goulet welcomes Ed Ames, Jerry Vale, Kay Starr and Patti Page live and highlights great original performance archive footage as well.

At 10:30 PM we step forward to the generation of free love with My Generation—the 60’s. Roger McGuinn, The Association, Dennis Tufano and others bring back this “season of love” and the great music we all remember.

Just after midnight we leave the 60’s and groove on into The 70’s Experience with host Barry Williams (Greg Brady). Favorites Crystal Gale, Blues Image, Andy Kim and Maria Muldaur are just a few of the many memorable artists you see and remember.

Saturday night is another great night of concerts starting with Daniel O’Donnell: At Home In Ireland early at 5:30 PM. This is Daniel’s newest special and is only available on PBS.

Good Evening Ev’rybody follows at 7 PM with a performance by the great Louis Armstrong at the 1970 Newport Jazz Festival. Louis is joined by Mahalia Jackson, Jimmy Owens, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave McKenna and Wild Bill Davison, among others. This brand new special is a must see for any music fan.

Fans of Bachman-Turner Overdrive and The Who won’t want to miss the 10 PM special, Bachman Cummings: American Woman and more. This program is back due to popular demand and is a very entertaining concert with unique interview segments where Bachman and Cummings discuss their history and give insights into the relationship between these two rock giants.

We haven’t forgotten our Doo Wop fans either! The newest Doo Wop special, Doo Wop’s Greatest Hits will have you singing along with well known and remembered acts by Jerry Butler, The Cleftones, The Dixie Cups and the Dreamlovers, to name a few. This melodic special starts at midnight and runs through 2 AM.

All these informational and entertaining programs crammed into just 3 days! Check our online schedule for even more great specials or grab your Signal guide for more listings.
